These boxes are finely crafted from genuine hardwoods. Each box is unique.
The boxes are strong and made of solid hardwoods.
All boxes (including the inlays) are made personally by me in my workshop in Monroe, North Carolina.
I start by selecting unusually figured woods, and make about a dozen similar-sized boxes at a time.
This way I can save set-up time for the different jigs and tools, and I can finish the boxes all at once.
Otherwise the time involved would be prohibitive.
The last dozen boxes took me about 60 hours, so about an average of 5 hours
per box is not bad. I won't get rich making these things, but the small profits add up,
and enable me to buy some nice tools.

This is a birds-eye maple box with a hand-made Federal-style half-round fan (made from heat-sand-shaded maple, ebony and holly),
with ebony stringing around the perimiter of the sides.
The figured top is constructed from a solid piece of bird's-eye maple. This is a very highly figured piece with a dense pattern of bird's-eyes.
It does have a few hairline cracks which is normal for a highly
figured piece, but the tiny cracks have been sealed with epoxy and will remain stable.

Cremation Urn (example)
This is an example of a wood cremation urn. Outside dimensions are approximately 12 X 8 X 6" deep.
This one has an interior space of about 200 cubic inches.
I will make one to your specifications, out of any kind
of wood you like (if it is available). This particular one is made from bird's-eye maple with a
mahogany banding embedded with small holly crosses. The top is designed to be a tight, friction fit to
the bottom, making a tight seal, similar to a fit found in cigar humidors. Once together, it is a bit
difficult to get apart. The side are jointed with hand-cut dovetails.
The sides are constructed from the same piece of wood so the grain matches on all sides.
The top fits the bottom perfectly as the box was made as one unit, and the top cut from the bottom afterwards.
The finish is very smooth, being french-polished with a top coat of hand-rubbed polyeurethane.
Approximate cost on a box such as this would be about $435. Price would vary depending upon the species of wood and desired
