Sure, this box is expensive, but it's a work of art! Approximately 60 hours were devoted
to the making of this box, including approximately 26 hours of inlay work.All inlays are accomplished with 1/16" wide holly stringing which is also made in my workshop. The holly strips are inlayed into the walnut using a small router, knives and small chisel. This is all hand-work done exclusively by me.
All these woods are hand-chosen for figure - genuine American walnut. The joinery is solid and flawless with no gaps. The drawers are made of solid and stable hardwood with strong, box-joint joinery. The knobs are heavy, solid brass. Approximate dimensions are 14" wide, 11" deep and 19" high. Each drawer, inside, measures about 9-1/4" X 7-1/4" X 2" deep. The finish is french polish - hand-rubbed - fine and smooth - without flaws. This is a solid and sturdy box. Only top-quality materials and thoroughly cured and dry woods were used in its construction, ensuring a product that will not warp or split for a lifetime.

The french polishing is accomplished by hand rubbing a mixture of shellac, oil, alchol and pumice; then waxed for a durable silky smooth satin finish, that in my opinion, cannot be obtained otherwise.
